Not only to protect our naked bodies from the eyes of our surrounding friends and family, but also to protect the furniture, towels, floor and everything else in our bathroom from being soaked in water from the shower. You have probably seen this happen either by your own doing or someone in your family. If you have ever spilled a glass of water on the floor, you know that the small amount of water in that glass seems to be a lot more once it hits the floor. Imagine what 15 minutes in the shower without a shower curtain would be like.

So what makes them dirty? Hard water and soap scum slowly builds up on the curtains and remains even after they dry off. These dry soap deposits give off a moldy smell over time and are visible as ugly spots on the curtains.
