You know of course why we use shower curtains. Not only to protect our naked bodies from the eyes of our surrounding friends and family, but also to protect the furniture, towels, floor and everything else in our bathroom from being soaked in water from the shower. You have probably seen this happen either by your own doing or someone in your family. If you have ever spilled a glass of water on the floor, you know that the small amount of water in that glass seems to be a lot more once it hits the floor. Imagine what 15 minutes in the shower without a shower curtain would be like.
The first reason is the intended buyer and marketing to them. The second is the shape and cut of a shower curtain. The third is the opacity of it. These reasons are what determine which type will be bought by the consumer and so are paid close attention to by the maker.
Shower curtains were created to provide privacy for the one taking the shower and to prevent a flood from happening in the bathroom. The curtains usually surround the inside of the bathtub. These curtains are suspended by a rod at the top of the bathtub or shower enclosure.
